Sany Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd specializes in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of excavators. It was founded in 2003 as a member of Sany Group, a well-known enterprise in the world in the engineering machinery manufacturing industry. Located in the coastal area of Yangtze River Delta, the company comprises two manufacturing bases, Lingang Base in Shanghai and Kunshan Base in Jiangsu Province. The 274 acres R&D and manufacturing base at Lingang will start production in November 2011. The Kunshan Industrial Park covers an area of 329 acres, consisting of manufacturing center, R&D center, training center and residential area. The capacity of the two bases reaches 80,000 units per year, ranking the first place in the world.
 

During the past several years, Sany Heavy Machinery’s annual growth rate in sales has been over 100% on average, with a sales volume of more than 3,000 machines in 2008, more than 6,000 in 2009 and 12,000 in 2010. Its growth rate ranked the first place for three consecutive years in the industry, becoming the first private excavator enterprise with the sales volume of over 10,000. The sales volume achieved over 13,800 units in the first half of 2011, establishing Sany as China’s top excavator enterprise and enabling it rise to the second place in the industry.

The first totally digitalized production line in the construction machinery industry is employed in SANY’s worldly largest modern excavator manufacturing base, with the world’s first-rate automatic manufacturing equipment put into use. SANY has thus realized automatic control in production process, built an environmental-friendly and garden-like model factory and formed SANY’s unique SPS lean production mode.
